Columbus Crew defender Steven Moreira has been named the 2024 MLS Defender of the Year after a sparkling season.
The Cape Verde international enjoyed an excellent campaign with Colombus Crew, grabbing two goals and three assists in 27 MLS outings, and seeing him named in the All-Star XI as one of five Crew players.
Moreira, who is the first Colombus Crew player to win the award since 2009, edged out former Barcelona man Jordi Alba in the voting, with the Spaniard finishing second ahead of Seattle Sounders defender Jackson Ragen.
