Among the four major sports, the NFL trade deadline tends to be one of the slowest. It’s rare for big name players to change teams mid-season, but that doesn’t stop analysts from trying to hype up deals. 

We don’t know what changed, but for some reason 2024 has been marked as a big year for trades. Even if they aren’t in their prime anymore, we have seen some household names changing teams.

This year’s NFL trade deadline is set for 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, November 5. Let’s take a look at the moves that happened before the deadline, and then track all of the latest rumors and moves for what is already one of the better NFL trade deadlines in recent memory.

Saints fire Dennis Allen, but full firesale not expected

Nov. 4 — The New Orleans Saints started the season 2-0, showing off a high-octane offense. Less than two months later, the Saints have lost seven games in a row and are now 2-7. The final straw was the most recent loss to the Carolina Panthers, and New Orleans decided to part ways with its head coach. Despite Dennis Allen getting fired, early reports are that the Saints are not expected to complete a full firesale ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline. 

After moving to 3-5, Jerry Jones says he wants to make moves at deadline

Nov.  3 — Jones commented after the loss that he hasn’t given up on the team and that they will probably make some moves ahead of Tuesday’s deadline. After another loss, though, it remains to be seen if the moves will be as buyers or sellers. 

Steelers remain in pursuit of WR help

Nov. 3 — Pittsburgh is 6-2 at the bye and sits atop the AFC North standings. As they begin their playoff push, the Steelers are looking for more talent to add at WR, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

After an injury to Jaguars WR Christian Kirk keeps him out of the running, Pittsburgh could be keying in on New York’s Mike Williams and Carolina’s Adam Thielen.

Azeez Ojulari, Za’Darius Smith are in demand as teams search for edge rushers

Nov. 3 — Azeez Ojulari has “been the subject of several calls” from teams in search of another edge rusher, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Depending on the Browns’ result in Week 9, DE Za’Darius Smith could become available.

Detroit’s pursuit of pass-rushing help in the wake of the injury to Aidan Hutchinson has led to inquiries about Smith, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Jets receiving calls about WR Mike Williams

Nov. 3 — The writing may have been on the wall since Week 6 but Williams is ”garnering interest” ahead of the trade deadline, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The Jets’ WR room has quickly gotten crowded and Williams could be the odd man out.

Chiefs looking into acquiring CB Marshon Lattimore 

Nov. 2 — The Chiefs are looking to strengthen their title defense with roster improvements. They’ve recently inquired about Saints CB Marshon Lattimore, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter

Lattimore is inactive for Week 9 and the extent of Kansas City’s interest will depend largely on the four-time Pro Bowlers’ health.

NFL trades completed before the deadline

Oct. 30: The Jacksonville Jaguars traded offensive tackle Cam Robinson and a 2026 conditional 7th round pick to the Minnesota Vikings for a conditional 2026 5th round pick. 

Oct. 29: The Carolina Panthers traded wide receiver Diontae Johnson and a 2025 6th round draft pick to the Baltimore Ravens for a 2025 5th round draft pick. 

Oct. 28: The New England Patriots traded linebacker Josh Uche to the Kansas City Chiefs for a 2026 6th round draft pick. 

– Oct. 24: The Tennessee Titans traded wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a 2025 conditional 5th round pick. 

Oct. 23: The Tennessee Titans traded linebacker Ernest Jones to the Seattle Seahawks for linebacker Jerome Baker and 2025 4th round pick. 

Oct. 15: The Houston Texans traded running back Cam Akers and a 2026 conditional 7th round pick to the Minnesota Vikings for a 2026 conditional 6th round pick.

Oct. 15: The Cleveland Browns traded wide receiver Amari Cooper and a 2025 6th round draft pick to the Buffalo Bills for a 2025 3rd round pick and a 2026 7th round pick. 

Oct. 15: The Las Vegas Raiders traded wide receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets for a 2025 conditional 3rd round draft pick.

Oct. 14: The Jacksonville Jaguars traded DE Roy Robertson-Harris to the Seattle Seahawks for a 2026 6th round draft pick.
