MLS announce debut opponents for San Diego FC

MLS have announced the opening weekend opponent for expansion club San Diego FC, who will begin their inaugural campaign in 2025.

Investor Mohamed Mansour paid a whopping $500m to bring MLS to the city, becoming the latest club from California as the local rivalries continue to heat up.

They won’t have to wait long to get their first taste of one of those potential rivalries either, as San Diego will head to Los Angeles to square off with the Galaxy during the opening weekend of 2025 MLS action, which will take place February 22-23.

After that trip up north, San Diego will return home for their first ever match at SnapDragon Stadium, where they will host St. Louis City in front of their first crowd.

Complete details of not only San Diego’s inaugural season schedule, but the entire schedule of all 30 MLS clubs will be announced in December.
