The Seattle Sounders continued their climb up the Western Conference with a comfortable 2-0 victory over a Sporting Kansas City languishing in 12th.

Goals from Jackson Ragen and Paul Rothrock in the first-half were all the Sounders needed to coast to a victory and move into the top-five for the time being.

Attention for all of MLS will now turn to an important set of midweek fixtures this week. For the Sounders, their push towards a home playoff game will continue with a home clash with strugglers San Jose.

Meanwhile, Sporting KC will host Colorado as they look to secure some sort of consolation for the campaign.
