Orlando extend forward’s contract after European interest

Orlando City SC have announced the contract extension of forward Duncan McGuire, seeing the forward commit his future to club through 2027, with an option for 2028.

The US international has had a meteoric rise since Orlando selected him No. 6 overall in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft, and even found himself embroiled in a transfer saga for the ages with English club Blackburn Rovers last summer.

McGuire has 20 goals and 5 assistantships s in 48 appearances for Orlando City, earning him a call to represent the United States at the 2024 Olympic Games.

“We are incredibly happy to have signed Duncan to a new contract and for his desire to stay here with us in Orlando,” Orlando General Manager Luiz Muzzi said.

McGuire is currently on pace for back-to-back seasons with double-digit goals for Orlando as they look to wrap up an MLS Cup Playoffs berth in the coming weeks.
