Blink and you’ll miss it, NYCFC are ahead in Columbus in a flash as they look to pull off an upset at the home of the champions in the Leagues Cup quarter-final.

The atmosphere was crackling in Columbus, but the home crowd was silenced before they could even settle into their seats. The visitors from the Bronx snatched the lead in just 14 seconds.

After a bad giveaway at the back, Alonso Martínez darted in behind and slotted the home opener in front of the Nordecke at Lower.com Field.

The rapid strike is the fastest in both Leagues Cup and NYCFC history, and you wouldn’t put money on that record getting trumped anytime soon!

It’s a dream start for the visitors, but a disaster for the Crew. Yet Wilfried Nancy’s side have shown that no deficit is too big as of late.

They’ll need to dig themselves out of a hole again, but the advantage is with the Pigeons.
