Delicious Orie lost by split decision to Davit Chaloyan in the men’s 92kg as another British boxer suffered an early exit at the Paris Olympics.
Orie, Britain’s biggest medal hope in the boxing, agonisingly lost 3-2 to the Armenian in the last 16.
It means that four of Britain’s six boxers have now lost in Paris.
“I’ve let everybody down, I’ve let Great Britain down, I’m really upset,” the 27-year-old told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“At the moment I feel like it’s breaking me, but I think in a few years, I am a mature enough individual to look back and think I gave it my all.
“I just have to lick my wounds.”
Great Britain are the third most successful boxing nation in Olympic history, having won 18 gold, 13 silver and 25 bronze medals, including six in Tokyo in 2021.
But Rosie Eccles lost on a controversial split decision in the second round of the women’s 66kg, Charley Davison lost early in the women’s 54kg and Patrick Brown went out in the men’s 92kg in the opening three days.
Chantelle Reid competes in the women’s 75kg on Wednesday, followed by Lewis Richardson in the men’s 71kg.
“I’ve done four interviews this weekend and in three of them they have ended up crying, and I have walked away with a tear in my eye,” BBC boxing commentator Steve Bunce said.
“It is a hard event and GB boxers, they have got targets on their backs.
“What we are having here is a bit of a reality check.”
