Mets manager Carlos Mendoza confirmed that right-hander Tylor Megill will be called up to start on Saturday against the Atlanta Braves.

SNY’s Andy Martino reported on Baseball Night in NY on Wednesday that it was “likely” to be Megill that got the call, and the Mets’ skipper has now made it official.

Megill will be taking Christian Scott’s spot in the rotation, with Scott hitting the IL due to a UCL sprain.

With Kodai Senga all set for his return to the mound on Friday night, the Mets will be moving to a six-man rotation, meaning Megill will likely stay in the rotation until Scott, who has been shut down from throwing for two weeks, eventually comes back.

Megill, 28, last pitched in the majors on June 29, when he allowed four earned runs over 5.1 innings against the Houston Astros. Overall this season, Megill has started eight major league games, pitching to a 5.08 ERA and 1.44 WHIP. He struggled over his last five starts before getting sent down, pitching to a 7.43 ERA to go along with a 1.74 WHIP.

Megill’s career numbers are better than what he’s done this season, though, as he has a career 4.76 ERA in 66 career appearances (60 starts).
