Texas adds to big class, lands 4-star Jonathan Cunnigham

Jonathan Cunnigham stayed in-state, committing to Texas on Friday.

A four-star linebacker in the class of 2025, Cunningham picked Texas from a final group of schools that included TCU and Utah. He also had offers from Arizona State, Baylor, Houston, Kansas, Miami, Missouri, Oklahoma State and Oregon State among others.

A 6-foot-3, 190-pound outside linebacker at North Crowley (Forth Worth, Texas) had 38 total tackles as a junior and nine tackles for a loss along with a sack. He also had two passes defended and a fumble recovery.

According to Rivals, Cunningham is a four-star and the No. 24 outside linebacker in the nation. He is also the No. 56 player in Texas this recruiting cycle.

With the commitment of Cunningham, Texas now has the No. 15 recruiting class in the nation according to On3. They are ranked eighth in the SEC for the 2025 recruiting cycle.
