Brandon Nimmo remains out of the Mets’ starting lineup on Tuesday night as his club takes on the Washington Nationals, but it sounds like the veteran outfielder could make an appearance later in the game.

After fainting and cutting his forehead early on Monday morning, Nimmo was held out of the 9-7 win over the Nats, but he told reporters on Tuesday that he is available off the bench after getting 10 hours of sleep, and expects to be in the starting lineup on Wednesday.

Nimmo explained the incident on Monday, saying he woke up in his hotel room in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom before cramping and fainting. He woke up on his bathroom floor bleeding from his forehead and spent hours at the hospital.

The outfielder said he passed all concussion testing, and also had a CT scan and an EKG, which all came back negative.

“We’re really glad that that’s all, we’re really glad that all the tests have come back negative and so that’s very positive for us,” Nimmo said. “Just something that from what I was told by the doctors, something that could happen one time in your life and you could never have to deal with it again.”
