The Black-and-Red defeat Toronto FC in a breathtaking 3-2 stoppage time victory to open the 2023 MLS Season at Audi Field.

Mateusz Klich marked his D.C. United and MLS debut by firing home a spectacular 25-yard strike to open the scoring in the 13th minute. Toronto FC would equalize from the spot at the start of the second half and eventually take the lead with time winding down. Then in the 90th minute Belgian forward Christian Benteke found the back of the net to bring the Black-and-Red level. But the Black-and-Red didn’t settle there. In the 8th minute of stoppage time Mohanad Jeahze found Homegrown midfielder Ted Ku-DiPietro near the penalty spot to complete the comeback!
