The Arizona Cardinals are one of those originations where you can never predict what’s gonna happen. With all the talent they’ve had over this past decade, you’d imagine they would have won a Super Bowl by now, but no… The Cardinals continue to do Cardinals things, and one of their problems is that their GM, Steve Keim, continues to make bad decision after bad decision. He’s let player like Tyrann Mathieu, Calais Campbell, Patrick Peterson, and Haason Reddick go, and all of those players I just listed off, should’ve never been able to walk out of our building in the first place. But this offseason, Keim has a chance to make up for his mistakes, because all of those players are currently free agents, and 3/4 of them would fit PERFECTLY on our roster! Bringing back Tyrann Mathieu doesn’t make sense since we currently have Budda Baker, but Patrick Peterson, Calais Campbell, and Haason Reddick should all be on our radar (if Keim hasn’t already burned those bridges). With Chandler Jones being a free agent in 2022, Reddick would be the perfect replacement for him, and there is no reason we shouldn’t look to bring him back, and the same goes for Peterson and Campbell. The Cardinals secondary and run defense looked very suspect last year, and bringing these guys in would help solidify our weaknesses. Patrick Peterson is no longer the lockdown corner he used to be, but he is WAY better than every corner we have on our roster currently, outside of Byron Murphy. And when it comes to Calais Campbell, this should be a no brainer. He’s still playing at an elite level, and he’s currently one of the best run defenders in the league, which would help us out TREMENDOUSLY, and we should absolutely look in bringing him back!
