Breeders’ Cup World Championships Pre-Entries

For 2021, the Breeders’ Cup World Championships return to Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. Pre-entries closed at noon on October 25 for all the races and were announced at 11:00am ET on October 27 with a total of 196 horses pre-entered. Final entries will close at 10am ET and the post position will be drawn at 5pm on Monday November 1 in the paddock at Del Mar. Below are links to all the horses pre-entered in each race along with lots of information.
The 38th Breeders’ Cup will have a total of 14 Championship races (thirteen Grade 1 with the Juvenile Turf Sprint as the lone Grade 2) spread over two days of racing with $30 million in purse money on the line. Friday November 5th is billed as “Future Stars Friday” featuring all 5 Championship races for juveniles on the same card, starting with the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G2) and highlighted by the $2 million TVG Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1). Saturday November 6th will have nine Grade 1 races for older horses headlined by the $6 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) at 1 1/4 miles. The Championships will be held at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in San Diego County, California, for a second time, the first in 2017.
The Breeders’ Cup will be televised on NBC and NBC Sports with the schedule shown below. All times are Eastern.

Saturday, November 7, 2:30-8:00 – Championship Saturday on NBC Sports
Saturday, November 7, 8:00-9:00pm – Classic on NBC

Jockey assignments are based on who has been riding them but won’t be finalized until the entries are drawn so may change.
