Fulham are currently favourites to land Liverpool winger Harry Wilson, who has been made available for transfer this summer.

24-year-old Wilson had been linked with a move away from the club last year, but when no suitable bids arrived, he ended up joining Championship side Cardiff City on loan for the campaign to try and play his way back into Jurgen Klopp’s plans – or at least raise his profile and price tag for future windows.

Seven goals and 12 assists in 37 appearances was a solid return from Wilson, but according to Goal, the Welshman accepts that his chances of winning Klopp over are gone and he is ready to listen to offers from elsewhere.

Wilson is keen to find a permanent home this summer, and Fulham are currently leading the race to offer him that as they look to secure an immediate return to the Premier League.

Personal terms are not expected to be a problem, however the major stumbling block is the fact that Liverpool are looking for £15m to sell the 24-year-old, who still has two years left on his contract.

A £12m bid from Burnley was rejected last summer, and Liverpool believe he is worth more now than he was 12 months ago, so they are highly unlikely to shift too far from their initial valuation.

There has also been interest from Premier League newcomers Brentford, while Benfica have even enquired about a loan move, although Liverpool are determined to raise funds for new signings this summer and have not entertained the idea of another loan so far.

Liverpool are keen to raise money to rejuvenate their squad, which has been quietly growing older to the point that the club’s owners, Fenway Sports Group, are genuinely concerned about the future.

A reluctance to commit too much money to an ageing Georginio Wijnaldum contributed to his exit, and the same appears to be happening to captain Jordan Henderson.

Star forwards Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are all 29, while centre-back Virgil van Dijk recently turned 30, and FSG are understood to be worried by the prospect of so many integral parts of the squad ageing together with no concrete plan for the future.
