5-star Michael Carroll, an Alabama football commit, announces transfer to IMG Academy

Five-star offensive lineman Michael Carroll, an Alabama commit, announced on Wednesday that he is set to transfer to IMG Academy.

Carroll, who had played for Central Bucks East (Doylestown, Pennsylvania), is the No. 12 recruit in the nation according to On3. In the On3 Industry Rankings, he is the top-ranked interior offensive lineman in the nation and the second-best recruit in Pennsylvania in the class of 2025.

Carroll committed to Alabama in June over offers from Baylor, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Penn State, South Carolina and Tennessee among others.

IMG Academy (Bradenton, Florida) finished 10-0 last season. They were the fifth-best team in the nation in the final USA TODAY High School Sports Super 25.

The highly-rated recruit will have someone very familiar with him on the IMG Academy roster, his brother.

Liam Carroll, the younger brother of Michael Carroll, also announced on Thursday his transfer to IMG.

A 6-foot-2 athlete in the class of 2027, Liam Carroll already holds an offer from Penn State.
