Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow went back and forth throughout what was an entertaining game between the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night.

In typical rivalry fashion, both teams desired to get a win over the other as the star quarterbacks put on a show in front of the Baltimore home crowd.

The Ravens eked out a 35-34 victory in true comeback fashion, having trailed 21-7 in the third quarter. Statistically speaking, Burrow had the edge over Jackson, completing 34 out of 56 passes for 428 yards and four touchdowns.

However, the Ravens’ rally wouldn’t have been successful if t wasn’t for Jackson’s efforts. He finished the night with 25 completions for 290 yards and four touchdowns, with his composure on third down being noteworthy. As highlighted by ESPN’s Mine Kimes, Jackson threw for 162 yards and three scores on 11 third downs, indicating he was at his best when the team needed him most.

After Thursday night, Jackson improved his career record against the Bengals to 10-1. While the matchup heavily leans in Jackson’s favor, Burrow’s ability to keep up with him shows the undeniable talent they possess.

As tradition following the game, the quarterbacks met up with each other to give a handshake and hug. The NFL posted their meetup on social media, pointing out the combined numbers that Jackson and Burrow put up.

Here are what some fans thought about the performances of both star players:

“Need a playoff rematch,” one fan said.

“Best Thursday Night Football game ever,” a fan declared.

“Lamar’s mix of arm strength and mobility, combined with Burrow’s pinpoint passing to his talented receivers, created one of those classic primetime performances that fans will be talking about for a long time..!!” one fan stated.

“Instant classic every time Lamar & Burrow matchup,” a fan said.

“2 best QBs. Div rivals or not. Finally, a good TNF game,” one fan remarked.

Despite falling to 4-6, the Bengals can take solace with the knowledge that Burrow and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase (11 receptions for 264 yards and three touchdowns) had a strong connection throughout Thursday night. They will look to keep that rhythm going when they face the Los Angeles Chargers on Nov. 17 at 8:20 p.m. ET.

As for the Ravens, they’ll prepare for a key road matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. ET.
